A Starlight Chronicles Novella.
EXCERPT:
He stepped forward, and my heart skipped a beat. His eyes studied mine for a moment, before he gently lifted a hand to trace my cheek. I could barely breathe. “I will never leave you,” he said simply. The look in his eyes was so certain.
He leaned closer, and I reached up to wrap my hand around his, where he held my cheek. I let my eyes fall closed as his lips brushed mine.
I melted against him.
The first kiss was soft— the next firm, and in two short steps I was backed against the wooden door to his room. I leaned into him as our mouths moved in unison— his hand lifted from my cheek to intertwine with mine, and his other hand moved to cup my waist. Without thinking, I gripped the neck of his tunic and the cord began to unravel.
When we finally stopped, I was breathing heavily, feeling dazed and light. I could see his chest partially, with the cord half undone, and felt myself flushing red.
He traced the outline of my face again with his hand. “I will do whatever it takes to get you what is rightfully yours, Adrina,” he promised. “You will never lose me— not to anyone.”
It took me a moment to break the spell that had come over us.
“About that . . .” I breathed, still staring at him. “I don’t know if this is the right thing to be doing.”
He slowly stepped back from me.
“What do you mean?” he asked, as began to retie the cord of his tunic.
“I mean . . . it is the king and queen who did wrong by me. Not Annaliese. She doesn’t deserve to die because of their actions.”
“Annaliese will become Queen,” Julian replied firmly, “Unless we take her out.”

People don’t fear us…much. They respect us.
The five of us? We’re the Brooklyn Brothers.
And we protect what’s ours.
Jasmine Kingston should run from me. I mean, she should literally pick up her dress, toss away her heels, and haul ass in the complete opposite direction. Because for the last few months that she’s been in New York and taking the fashion world by storm, I’ve been watching her. From my ivory tower, from the shadows. Wherever she’s been, I’ve been only feet away, and she hasn’t even realized it.
Until now.
I can’t stay away and watch one more man take his shot with her. She needs to know what she’s doing to me. Especially since things are heating up with my family’s enemies. I just pray those enemies don’t discover my only weakness.
Maybe it was the wrong way to go. Maybe I should never have touched her. Never treated myself to her addictive taste. But I can’t alleviate this obsession I have with her any more than I can put a bullet between my own eyes.
She’s mine to protect now.

***Book Blitz*** Freeing Eden By G.S. Kenney

Freeing Eden
G.S. Kenney
Published by: Soul Mate Publishing
Publication date: May 29th 2019
Genres: New Adult, Romance, Science Fiction
A unique take on the eternal quandary of “good” versus “evil.”
— Joan D. Vinge, Hugo Award-winning author of The Snow Queen
All trader Zara wanted was to help Kell, a clone, retrieve his maker’s memories and discover who he really is. The conflict-torn planet Eden was supposed to be just a stop en route, but Kell begins recalling fragments of memories from Swifthammer, Eden’s now-deceased resistance leader. Despite Zara’s misgivings, Kell assumes Swifthammer’s role, opposing the planet’s foreign warlord Reuel.
But Reuel’s schemes take a dangerous turn when it becomes clear he has tampered with Kell’s programming. Could the memories Kell now begins to experience be . . . Reuel’s?
Kell struggles to bring peace to Eden by uniting his maker’s heritage with that of the planet’s oppressor, but Zara fears she may be losing her heart to the man who is poised to become Eden’s next and most terrible warlord. Can she help Kell find an identity all his own–and a future they can share together?
EXCERPT:
At seventeen thirty local time, a low, melodious chime sounded in the room.
Zara sighed. “Thirty minute warning.”
The clone had his arm over her shoulder, and she rested her cheek contentedly on his chest. She could feel his heart beating, and his light breathing stirred her hair.
“I hope you’ve gotten used to all my talking by now.” She twisted beneath his arm so that she could face him. “Wouldn’t it be wonderful if you could talk, too?” Zara stroked the clone’s cheek, and a slight smile came and went across his lips. “I almost believe you could.” She looked longingly at him. “And then I would say, Hello, my name is Zara. Za-ra.” She pronounced the word carefully. “And you would say, My name is . . . Now, what would your name be?”
“Kell,” said the baseclone.
Zara pulled back, her pulse pounding. “What? What did you say?” The baseclone looked at her with his habitual open gaze, head slightly tilted, as if waiting for something that didn’t really matter. He said nothing.
Zara felt a lump in her throat, coupled with an almost desperate urgency. “Please. Please say it again. What is your name?” He watched her silently and then hesitantly touched her cheek, looking for all the world as if he were trying to comfort her.
Zara took his hand away from her cheek, kissed his palm softly, and then wrapped the hand firmly in her own. She met his gaze and held it. “Tell me your name. Please. I really want to know.”
A tear rolled down the baseclone’s cheek, and then another, and Zara felt that her heart would break. “Why are you crying?” she whispered. “Have I hurt you? I didn’t mean to.” Softly, her fingers traced the track of the tear down his cheek.
Watching her as if mesmerized, the baseclone spoke, slowly. “My . . . name . . .” There was a pause long enough to make Zara believe that he would not speak again. Then he added, “. . . is . . . Kell.”
Zara let out the breath she hadn’t realized she was holding, and she allowed herself to fall back against Kell’s chest. He wrapped his arms around her.
“Kell,” she repeated.
The chime sounded two long tones.
Zara sighed. “Twenty minute warning. I can’t leave you here. In this place. This life. By all of space, Kell, you are not a baseclone. There’s no control unit in your dataport, but you’ve been watching and responding to me. I could begin to believe there might be some kind of advanced baseclone I don’t know about that can do some of that, but you—you have feelings. You were crying! And you understand me and can answer, which means you have some intelligence, even language. You’re not a baseclone, and you don’t belong here.”
She stood up and walked to the mirror that was mounted on the wall opposite the couch. Straightening her hair’s disarray, Zara watched him in the mirror as he watched her in turn.
“The papers attached to my contract show you were discharged as a baseclone, but I can’t believe it.” She took out her comm. “I’ve transported baseclones, so I have access to the discharge database on Bigollo.” She spoke the access code and her password and authenticated her identity with a thumbscan. “I’ll use your ID number from the contract.” As data appeared on the small screen, she frowned, shook her head, and rekeyed the number.
She shook her head again, more stubbornly. “Something’s wrong here. The database on Bigollo says that you died in the tank, and the body was disposed of a month and a half ago.” She rubbed the goosebumps on her arms. “But clearly you’re not dead, because a couple of weeks ago you turned up here on Lesurat as a baseclone with no name and no owner. But that’s false, too. You’re a trueclone, not a baseclone. So what’s going on?”
He watched her openly, patiently.
“I can’t get into the database of creators. There was no need, since I was dealing only with baseclones on that job. There’s no clue in the data I have as to who or where your creator might be.”
The chime sounded several times, insistently.
“Ten minutes. Not enough time to figure this out. So let’s just focus on the urgent question, which is, what are we going to do about it?”
She began pacing up and down the small room. “If the administrators on Bigollo knew you were a trueclone, you wouldn’t have been sold here. So most likely, they don’t know. That means all I have to do is tell the manager, and he will do the right thing, whatever that is. Return you to the lab, I guess, so that your creator can be found and notified.”
She sighed again and turned back to Kell. “On the other hand, this is Lesurat we’re talking about. That man is as greedy as the rest of them. Even if he’s honest, he’ll want very much to doubt me. His purchase papers are in order, and so are the baseclone discharge papers from Bigollo. He’ll rely on them. He’ll ask himself, What would a spacer know? And he’ll answer, Nothing. She’s mistaken.
Zara pulled at Kell’s arm. “Sit up straight, Kell. I’m talking to you. We have to figure this out, and we don’t have much time.”
Kell obeyed.
“If he’s not so ethical, the situation will be the same, or worse. He’ll pretend very graciously to accept my comments and thank me profusely and just continue doing what he’s doing with you.” A shiver ran down her back. “I can’t bear to think about that.”
As if sensing her distress, Kell touched her arm gently.
“Thanks, Kell.” Zara managed a smile that she hoped would pass for reassuring. “You’re so much more than a normal baseclone. But touching is not what I need right now. What I need is an idea. I don’t suppose you would have that?” She looked at him quizzically, not entirely sure that he wouldn’t, but Kell said nothing. He watched her impassively, waiting.
Zara sighed. “No, I suppose not. If you’d had an idea, you would have been out of here days ago, right? I guess I have to figure this out by myself. So, let’s see . . . we aren’t going to get any help from the manager here. That means it’s up to me. Kell, listen. If I can get you out of here, would you want to come with me?”
Zara studied the clone, but his open expression didn’t change, gave no clue to what he might be thinking. If anything, she reminded herself. But he looked so vulnerable that her heart ached. “Now, come on. Answer me. If I’m going to put myself on the line for you, I need to know how you feel about it. Would you want to come with me?”
Those beautiful blue-in-blue eyes studied her, seemed to be giving the question some thought. But he didn’t answer.
What had she expected?
“Yes.”
Zara jumped. “What?”
“Yes,” he said. “With you.”

EXCERPT:
Seth gazed down into pools of black, into Krista’s large beautiful eyes, and was lost to the humble pain reflecting from them. A direct result of having lost her best friend. He hated to see her cry, and the fact he caused it now had him feeling awkward, ashamed, and less than human.
How could he have left her like that? It was a damn good question. Even though he’d always been able to reason with himself that it was the right thing to do, he faced the obvious fact it had been incredibly painful for her.
He continued to look down at her as she fought to reign in her emotions, her bottom lip quivering and breaking his heart. Proving to him, he had been wrong, and there were no words to right his mistakes. He gently reached out and touched her face, wiping away the tears. “I am sorry, Krista. I never meant to hurt you, I swear. I thought it would be best if I never resurfaced, and you would finally be able to move on without me.”
He knew the excuse was an old one, and it would burn her deeply to know he still harbored the desire to protect her by distancing himself. He also knew that even though he felt inclined to keep his distance, he could never again walk away from her. Her presence soothed his battered soul, and he would never be able to continue without her. He was suddenly determined that he would earn back her friendship, no matter what he had to do.
Krista didn’t let go of her grip on him but was suddenly desperate to have her questions answered to fill in the gaps and understand where he had been? Why was he here? And what did it all mean? “What’s going on, Seth? Why are you here?” she asked warily, fearing that despite his apology, he would up and disappear the first chance that he got.
Seth thought about his time in Mexico, his recent realization of his possible contributions to the murders there, or his inevitable descent into insanity, following in the footsteps of his mother. He stepped back from her, regressing immediately into an old pattern of keeping his tainted darkness away from her pure light.
“I need your help, Kris.”
Krista drew a deep, shaky breath, composing herself as she looked into him. She would see his weakness and that he was struggling with something bigger than he was, probably bigger than what she could handle. But she would help him as best she could. He was sure of that. No matter how it affected her. That’s what he worried about.
“Okay. I’ll help you. But you have to promise me just one thing,” she demanded, pointing her finger at him with a stern warning in her tone. “You have to promise me that you are going to be completely open and honest with me. You aren’t going to hide anything in the name of protecting me. I am sick of being treated with callous indifference so that you can feel like some sort of martyred hero. There is no point in me helping you with anything if we aren’t on the level. Understand?”
Seth clenched his jaw and knew he deserved the insult, while she also deserved exactly what she was asking for—honesty and trust. He nodded in affirmation. He would give her both. “I understand.”
Krista cocked her head to the side and continued to size him up with a wary, narrow-eyed gaze, “Fine, then let’s get out of here. We can go back to my apartment and order pizza while you fill me in on the last decade of your life and what it is you need help with. I’m hungry!” she stated emphatically as she spun on her heel. She crossed the room, gathered her briefcase, and turned back to lead the way out of the building.
As she approached him, she gave her best imitation of Ricky Ricardo’s famous Cuban accent, “Lucy, you have some ‘splaining to do!” and slipped her left arm into his right, gently pulling him toward the staircase. Same old Krista, bossy as ever.

***Book Blitz*** Skin and Bone By Keary Taylor

Skin and Bone
Keary Taylor
Publication date: November 12th 2019
Genres: Adult, Romance, Suspense
I’d do anything for him, even become the woman he loves…
HER
I tried my best for years, but all he ever wanted was for her to come back. So bit-by-bit, I evolved, transforming into someone he could love. But he didn’t take the bait until I went all the way.
I became her.
Now everything is perfect. We’re happy. So in love. And he doesn’t suspect a thing.
SAWYER
Someone claiming my name sent me a video. It looks to be me, returning to my hometown, reconnecting with my high school boyfriend, Ezra. Those are my clothes, that’s my laugh, and that’s my face.
She took my freedom next. And then she made me watch as she took over my entire life, fooling everyone like a perfect chameleon. It’s clear what she wants, and Ezra is all too quick to take me back.
Only one person seems to notice something is off. Ezra’s brother, Davis—the last person I called. There’s a certain darkness in Davis’ eyes, and he’s not the type to let up until he gets his answers.
Somehow, I’ll make her pay. This imposter is going to regret the day she ever took the name Sawyer James.
EXCERPT:
Chapter 1
Eight surgeries, twelve hair dye experiments, 1,834 hours of video observation, two years of yoga practice to try to make up that extra inch of height, and the public loss of gluten.
That’s what I’ve gone through for love. That’s everything I’ve given up–all the money I’ve spent, all the hours I’ve invested–to finally be with the man I’ve loved for more than a decade.
They say nothing worth having comes easy.
Everything comes with a price.
I’ve paid my dues. I’ve been more patient than anyone could ever comprehend.
And now it’s finally my time.
I step from the closet into the bathroom. I check my makeup. What the surgeries couldn’t accomplish is made up for with some well-practiced cosmetic techniques. The contour is just right. The eyebrow lift did exactly what was needed. My jaw is still sore, even though all of the swelling and bruising has finally gone away.
But as I apply a coat of lipstick—Apple Sunrise, her default color—I smile at myself.
Even my teeth required altering. Thirty-five thousand dollars, and they look just right; are just the right shade of white.
It’s perfect.
I’m perfect.
I am my own creation and I have to admire my hard work.
It’s brilliant.
I press my lips together, blowing my own reflection a kiss, and step out of the bathroom. I cut through the nearly empty bedroom and aim for the dining room. My laptop sits on it, a cheap piece of technology, because after today, it’s going in the crusher of the cement company down the road.
Can’t leave any evidence behind.
Which is tragic, because really, this amounts to the same amount of work as a doctoral degree.
It’s okay though. I’ll take the loss, so long as it gets me the prize, the reward for all my hard work.
I open the web browser and sign into my email.
iamsawyerjames@gmail.com
Just seeing the signature at the top of the page feels good. My insides flutter in excitement. Goosebumps wash over my skin.
Sawyer James at IMT Homes, I type in the address. I attach just one file and leave the body of the email empty. In the subject line, I type It was never really about you.
But that’s a lie. She may not be my main target, my main motivation, but there are fourteen years’ worth of resentment that brought us to this point.
My gaze re-focuses on the screen, and once more, I see my reflection.
Perfect, soft blonde hair. Blue eyes that border on green, thanks to contacts that are purely for color, not prescription.
A pretty face with hope in her eyes.
Here we are. One last out before it all goes down.
One last opportunity to change my mind.
I see myself smile in the screen.
Not a chance. I’ve worked too hard for this.
I press SEND and smile.

Yet Cam’s grandmother isn’t the only matchmaker in his family, and someone’s determined to keep him and Nica apart.
Steamy, touching, heart-warming. A much-needed #OwnVoices romance to go perfectly with that plate of chocolate brownies and glass of wine!
EXCERPT:
I needed to get laid. At least, that’s what my amber cocktail made me think—correction, my third amber cocktail. If the first two hadn’t murdered my inhibition, the third managed to land the final blow.
Minus my usual filter, my eyes wandered around the room, hunting for a man to prey on. The bar was packed for a Tuesday night. Waves of chatter encompassed me, creating a low hum in my ears. But I didn’t care about the noise, not when a particular delicious specimen held me captivated, with hair the hue of rich caramel sticking out in different directions. He sat at the bar, hunched over his drink. A brunette with boobs practically spilling out of her top tried to speak to him, but he shook his head and tapped in front of his ear twice, before turning back to his drink.
She may have slinked back to her friend, but I bit my lip, taming down the grin threatening to split my face. Perfect. My fingers itched to communicate, or smooth down his messy hair.
Perhaps both.
Before I could make up my mind, his broad shoulders stiffened and he turned. My alcohol-induced bravado vanished, and I tried to wrench my gaze away. Except, I didn’t move. Not an inch. Total disconnect from cranial activity to body movement. Damn fruity drinks. A pair of brown eyes locked with mine. Crap. I knew better than to be rude and stare.
Quick, sign something, I willed my hands, anything.

Aces High is a complete standalone in the Baum Squad MC universe. It includes intense sexual situations and some violence. Reader discretion is advised.
EXCERPT:
She scans my bruised face with an anguished expression on her own. Have the last forty-eight hours been just as miserable for her as they were for me? Or does she just feel sorry for me? I wish I could read her mind, but I just have to hold my breath and wait for an answer. The song has ended. The music stopped, but we are still in the same spot, trapped together, unwilling to part.
“Four days?” she considers.
“An indecent proposal.” I slide my hands down to her ass and grip both of her juicy cheeks. She’s wearing a skin-tight pair of jeans that hug every curve of her bottom. The force of my hold mashes together our lower bodies, giving Liv an up-close and personal feel of my growing need, and want, and desire. A small, titillating moan escapes her mouth as she’s swept away in the moment.
“Heaven help me. I accept.” She falls to pieces right in my arms.
“I thought that was going to take more convincing.” “Consider all your efforts over the last week and a half counting toward my decision.”
“Oh, yeah?” My pride swells. “Good to know it wasn’t all for nothing.” I drop a kiss on her lips, and then another. I add one more just for good luck. And maybe because I just love kissing her.
“So, are we done wasting time down here? I’m ready to go to bed.” Erase the boundaries, and Liv is a livewire.
“Not yet.”
“You’re gonna make me wait?” She’s equally pouty and surprised.
“A little bit longer, yeah. I gotta put my time in first.”
“And how much time are we talking?” Liv is provocatively close.
“I’m not sure. A few hours, maybe?”
“That seems like an impossibly long time.”
“It is an impossibly long time,” I agree, my balls aching like a motherfucker. I’ve been fighting for Liv’s attention for so long, I’ve reverted back to a goddamn horny teenager.
“Well, I guess I’ll just have to wait for you, then. Alone,” she sighs, “naked . . . and wet.”
“Wet?” I swallow hard.

Aldrea Alien
(Dark One’s Trilogy #2)
Publication date: October 31st 2019
Genres: Young Adult Gothic Romance
A royal wedding. A fiery heroine. And a brazen act of sabotage that could topple a kingdom.
It has been five months since Clarabelle Weaver saved the life of the infamous Great Lord and happily accepted his unexpected marriage proposal. With their wedding less than a week away, she is finally stepping into the unfamiliar world beyond her village to face nobility she never knew existed.
But it’s not only them who are interested in her presence.
The enemy is also stirring for this historic occasion. Their focus not on the man they see as their reviled “Dark Lord”, but on her as the young woman who supposedly carries his heir.
Clara must weave a path through attempted assassinations and poisonings whilst also proving to the court that she’s suitable to become their ruler’s Great Lady… all before taking their vows. But has her training prepared her for an attack that could send the kingdom into war?

EXCERPT:
The door took them out into a narrow, vacant corridor. Cool air caressed her face and took the edge off the wretched sogginess that had grasped her limbs. Clara breathed deeply as they walked, willing her stomach to stop fluttering and disgusted it wouldn’t obey such a command. It was empty bar a half-cup of liquid. What was left for it to protest?
Lucias ran his hand up and down her back in light, reassuring strokes. The action was somewhat at odds with the concern plastered across his face and the anger evident in the flicker of silvery-blue light in his eyes. Small though they were, the sparks still flashed in the gloom. “How are you feeling now?”
“Still terrible,” she mumbled. Even away from the warmth of the kitchens, the unbearable heat continued to plague her.
He nodded as if expecting that very reply. There was a hitch in his stride as he fumbled with something in a small pouch on his belt. “Here,” he whispered, pressing a slim glass vial into her hand. “Drink this. It should fix that.”
Clara uncorked the vial and downed the brown sludge without a second thought. Her very hair seemed to shudder at the bitterness coating her tongue. She gagged. Her stomach rolled, still deciding on whether to reject this strange concoction. “What was that?” The words barely escaped her without her biting her tongue.
“It’s the antidote for a large variety of poisons.” He took the vial back from her and returned it to the pouch. “I always keep a few on me.”
Heat drained from her face. She wasn’t certain if it was due to the vial’s effects or the implication that… “Someone tried to poison me?” She hadn’t even been here a day. How could there already be people in place to make an attempt on her life? And why hadn’t they gone straight for Lucias?
“Well, it’s was either that or the food was far too rich for you. But I’d prefer to err on the side of caution when it comes to your wellbeing. I’ll bring a few vials for you in the morning. Right after I send a few of my people to interrogate the kitchen staff.”
