***Book Blitz*** Rites of Spring By J.V. Speyer (Rites #1)

Rites of Spring
J.V. Speyer
(Rites #1)
Publication date: September 10th 2019
Genres: Adult, Paranormal, Suspense
Cameron has built a good life for himself despite his rough start. He can’t trust enough for romance, but he’s okay with that. He’s got good money coming in as a graphic designer and just inherited a duplex in Plymouth from his estranged grandfather, so he doesn’t have to worry about keeping a roof over his head. He likes his tenants, he has friends, and he’s content with that.
When two guys claiming to be paranormal investigators show up on his doorstep tell him the tenants contacted them about “phenomena” in the house, he knows they’re con men right away. For one thing, they claim he was the tenant. He sends them packing. It doesn’t matter that one of the con artists is the hottest guy Cameron has seen in years – if anything, that just makes Cameron more suspicious.
Then things go wrong in the house, things he can’t shrug off or ignore. The past Cameron has worked so hard to leave behind is coming for him, and it’s angry.
EXCERPT:
Okay, if Cameron ignored his personality, Jason was everything Cameron usually went for. He was tall, he was strong (or at least looked strong), and the black leather jacket did things to Cameron that he’d never been able to explain.
He didn’t like the attitude. He didn’t like the contempt that he’d seen in Jason. Jason had clearly assumed that he and Reid could just walk up to him and say, “Boo! We’re ghost hunters, here to rescue you!” and Cameron would roll over and obey. Jason had a lot to learn about people if he thought they worked like that. Cameron had never been very good at taking orders, and the idea that someone was just going to come up to him and say “Do what I say because I said so” filled him with an irrational anger.
He wanted to wipe the arrogance off that smug, self-satisfied face.
Jason might be hot, but he was arrogant. He was also volatile, which Cameron did not need in his life. He’d had plenty of that already. What he needed now was stability, and he could afford to wait until he found it. He didn’t mind going without, even if it had been almost a year since he and Dustin had broken up.
He shook his head and laughed at himself. Putting the cart before the horse, don’t you think? Jason was hot, arrogant, volatile, whatever. Jason was also a con man trying to get into Cameron’s house for unknown reasons, not some guy messaging him on the dating app Grindr. Jason wasn’t attracted to Cameron. Jason wasn’t even pretending to be attracted to Cameron. Jason was probably straight.
Reid came off as the more stable of the pair, but the way that he spoke in measured tones made Cameron uneasy. He sounded like the guidance counselors and “advocates” that kept showing up in school and throughout the system; the ones they used to try to break you down and get you to tell them things you didn’t want to. Reid was probably the least trustworthy of the pair.

***Book Blitz*** Dope & Diamonds By Natalie Bennett (New Money Trilogy #1)

Dope & Diamonds
Natalie Bennett
(New Money Trilogy #1)
Publication date: September 10th 2019
Genres: Adult, Romance
His reign.
Her damnation.
There are two sides of my city.
There’s the filthy side–a place brimming with corruption and greed–the rotting carcass of a criminal underworld.
And then there’s the opulent side—a place of elegance and wealth—home of the elite and heart of that same cruel underbelly. Somewhere I could only dream of living.
That all changed when D’Angelo Remmington made me his latest acquisition. In the blink of an eye, I went from a street rat to a kingpin’s most prized possession.
He gave me everything I wanted, but there’s a saying about being careful what you wish for, because you might get everything you’ve been seeking, but nothing in life comes without a cost.
Now ensnared in a world that is as ugly as it is beautiful, what began as a fairy-tale slowly becomes a bittersweet tragedy of sensuality, violence, betrayal, and unrequited love.
And in order to survive, I must kill the naïve dreamer I once was, and embrace the vicious woman I’ve been forced to become.

Author Bio:
Shameless author of twisted unconventional love stories.
Natalie has a penchant for (writing) villainous immoral men, and tends to deviate away from traditional happily ever afters.
When she isn't slaying words on multiple projects, she's hanging out in the sunshine state with her husband, their three boys, and her pit-bull named Lulu.

Fangs and Frenemies: A Blue Moon Bay Cozy Mystery
Cherry Andrews
(Witches with Anxiety, #1)
Publication date: September 4th 2019

A socially awkward bobcat shifter.
An ex-cheerleading vampire.
A sweet—but slightly neurotic—cupcake-baking witch.
They fight crime?
When the case of a missing mean girl throws Hazel back into contact with two old classmates, it’s time for these supernatural frenemies to set aside past grudges and help clear each other’s names.
But in the cloudy, romantic beach town of Blue Moon Bay, Oregon, it seems nearly everyone’s guarding a secret.
And they all involve magic of one kind of another.
Will these three women, who normally can’t stand each other, crack the mystery of what really happened to Hazel’s old bully, Ashlee—or is their effort cursed to fail?
EXCERPT:
I pressed the button to unlock Trixie, but nothing happened. Desperately I tried again, over and over. Couldn’t even hear her voice. “Crud! The remote battery must be dead.”
Max jogged back over, looking curious. “Maybe you could just fly to him, or something?”
I rolled my eyes at her. “Witches don’t fly, that’s a myth.”
“Not even with a broomstick?”
“Also a myth.”
“Can you stop time?”
“I’m a kitchen witch, not freakin’ Dr. Who.”
“Teleportation spell?
“That is a real thing,” I admitted grudgingly. “I’m just . . . not very good at those kinds of spells yet.” Or Mary Poppins clean up spells. Or reading auras.
“Right then.” Max closed her eyes and screwed up her face into a grimace.
“Wow, sorry that my witch skills aren’t up to your high standards,” I muttered, miffed.
Max’s eyes opened in surprise. “Hazel, I’m not judging you.”
“That’s not your judgy face?”
“No, it’s my shifting face. I’m getting ready to shift into a bobcat so I can sprint back home and get my car for you.”
I stared at her. “Wait, what?”
“Yeah, I thought I’d leave it at home today, it was nice and sunny . . . ”
“Not that. You didn’t by any chance just say you were turning into a bobcat?”
“Guess I did.” Max shrugged and made a lackadaisical “oops” face. “Welp, that was me coming out. You can process the whole ‘shifter’ thing while I get us some wheels.”
I didn’t so much see Max shift as I saw her clothes fall to the floor in a soft heap. A graceful, brown-spotted wildcat with black-tufted ears bounded past me. Picking up her still-warm shirt, I caught a whiff of the pleasant, woodsy essential oil blend she liked to mix up and use as perfume. Made sense. A bobcat liked the smell of the woods.
There wasn’t really much to process. Except what an idiot I’d been not to have guessed it all ten years ago.
This explained so much.

***Book Blitz*** The Minimalist Babe: Tidying-Up Your Whole Life By Lola R. Marie

The Minimalist Babe: Tidying-Up Your Whole Life
Lola R. Marie
Publication date: September 7th 2019
Genres: Adult, Self-help
Lola is every bit the minimalist babe – she lives simply, is intelligent and sassy, emotional and strong, calm and composed. Realizing that less is more, she traded in material possessions to focus on what was truly important to her. Lola’s inspiring guide delivers real-world advice on how to consume less, clear out clutter, find authenticity, and live a life based on freedom. It is a sincere attempt to help those who want to end their obsession with stuff.
Echoing the thoughts behind Leonardo da Vinci’s quote that “simplicity is the ultimate sophistication,” this book teaches you how to value the simple things. From learning to declutter and live with less to living life with passion, good health, and great relationships. The Minimalist Babe is for anyone who desires a more intentional life. Drawing from real-life experiences, it is filled with stories that will teach you step-by-step how to be:
Authentic, self-assured, calm and composed, mindful, minimal and self-sufficient, financially stable, purposeful, free, healthy and happy.
EXCERPT:
The world of conspicuous consumption1
By definition, conspicuous consumption refers to a lavish or wasteful spending mindset to display economic power, enhance social status, and to flaunt one’s riches. This doesn’t necessarily refer to all expenses because sometimes you do get your money’s worth and end up spending much less in the long run. It refers to expenses that are solely for the reason of show, where some people tell the world that they have newer stuff and fancier experiences than others through their purchases.
When who we are with and what they own becomes the foundation of what we own and become
In one way or the another, most people are victims of conspicuous consumption at some point in their lives. People can often be judgmental and like to share their assumptions with others. So, in a way, what others perceive of you and put out into the world about you is what you come to be known as. Irrespective of whether you are convinced or not, the people holding the microphone should be convinced, and that’s really where the problems start to occur. The process of image-building is so subtle but deep, so evident and normal, that some people can feel almost obligated to endorse it. They therefore become a creature of habit and feel obligated to buy things just to convey their ‘qualities’ to others. The more they collect, the harder they need to work to build the image they’ve advertised through it and their collections begin to grow.
Their purpose then shifts to increasing their brand value and with it their belongings. They, therefore, spend an enormous amount of money and time chasing that image and maintaining all that they’ve accumulated in pursuit of it. When you equate material things to personal qualities, you start believing what you own is what you are and then end up living your life maintaining and managing your so-called ‘new identity’, and we all know that’s a road that has no end.
Self-worth (or the lack of it) lies at the base of nearly all our actions
Human beings are social animals. Most people are designed to love and feel happy when a person loves them back. They feel dejected, upset, angry, and depressed when the person they love loves someone else or cheats on them. Often, they seek meaning not from inside of themselves but from recognition and acknowledgement of others. They are unable to see value unless it is projected from another’s perspective. In their bid to find value, they try to fit in and adhere to society’s so-called ‘accepted norms’, and in the process become victims of conspicuous consumption.

***Book Blitz*** Till I Found You By Michelle Fernandez

Till I Found You
Michelle Fernandez
Publication date: September 3rd 2019
Genres: Adult, Romance, Suspense
Former Navy SEAL, Julian “Booker” Cruz, joined an elite security ops agency with one goal in mind: to forget his past. With the overload of work, there’s no time for romance, nor does he want it. His rule—don’t mix business with pleasure. Until one assignment puts that rule to the test. Chloe Channing is not to discover his undercover role as her protective detail from an unknown psychopath. But as their days pass together in tropical paradise, it becomes difficult to keep his desire from compromising everything. Including her safety.
All Chloe wants is to remember, but so much of her memory was lost after her assailant left her unconscious. On a summer trip with friends at her family’s estate in the Bahamas, she yearns for the quiet respite from a previous heartbreak and her tortured nightmares. She never expects a man like Julian to help her find emotional peace and physical healing. But as she falls deeper, her flashbacks slowly come together, and they include glimpses of one handsome, mysterious, yet all-too-familiar face: Julian’s.
Is Chloe’s mind playing tricks on her again… or has she met this man before?
Even if Julian could let go and risk it all, could he ever forgive himself enough to fall in love again?
EXCERPT:
Julian wanted to rewind the clock.
Go back to the hilltop where they last made love in the rain. Or go back even further, to the day they first met. Maybe
things would be so different now. The one woman who had helped him with his brokenness, healed the deep scars of his heart and awakened his dark soul now needed to be fixed.
Agony.
The only thing Julian felt was pure hopelessness and he wanted to jump off the ledge. The lead of guilt weighed down his stomach and fire raged within him. His blood-soaked cargo pants and dried blood on his hands were reminders of the fucked-up rescue and recovery that had gone completely wrong.
Waiting.
That’s all he could do. Time had no place within the sterile white walls of the hospital. Minutes felt like hours and hours felt like an eternity. Julian paced the laminate floors of the long corridor as the blur of nurses that passed by him started to make him dizzy.
Julian’s boots moved him into the waiting room. He leaned against the doorjamb and scanned the room. Sam’s head lowered, face in his hands as Sage’s arm comforted him. Ezra and Olinda, their foreheads touching, embraced one another for support and comfort.
Guilt stirred in his chest when his eyes met Phoebe’s. Julian swal‐ lowed the lump in his throat and slightly shook his head, sending her unspoken apologies.
Phoebe rose from her chair and put her arms around him. She pulled back slightly and framed his face, wiped a tear that escaped his eye.
“This isn’t your fault,” Phoebe said, her red-rimmed eyes filled with tears.
He shut his eyes. “I fucked up, Phoebe.”
“Hey, look at me. Chloe is the strongest person I know.” Phoebe choked back a sob. They stared at each other for a beat until a soft smile pulled at Phoebe’s lips. “I need you to be strong for her.”
“I can’t lose her… I just found her.”
A momentary silence overlaid the small waiting room. Julian anticipated the doctor’s forthcoming final words. Even now, they tore at him like bear claws shredding his skin. He reached in his pocket, pulled out the turtle charm necklace he had picked up from the shed before getting in the ambulance. Julian stared at the trinket for a moment, hating the lump forming in his throat and the tears blurring his vision. He so badly wanted to see Chloe.
Parallel images collided of Amber and Chloe, knocking his breath loose. The doctor’s words that came out… ‘I’m so sorry for your loss’ hammered his heart when they couldn’t save Amber.
He prayed he wouldn’t hear those same words again. He sent up a silent prayer hoping for some kind of sign that Chloe was going to come out of this.
He needed to remind himself to breathe, to stay strong for her. But it was almost impossible when the woman he loved more than his own life was fighting for her very own. His head pounded as images of her brittle body, the bang of the gun firing one last time, then Chloe falling to the ground—all played in a loop, over and over.
Julian put the necklace back in his front pocket. “Don’t you dare die on me, Chloe,” Julian whispered to himself, letting out a deep breath he didn’t realize he’d held in his lungs.

Author Bio:
Michelle is a wife, mother and an avid reader of multi-genres. She's always been passionate about reading and impressed by the influence it has on people. Which is why she started writing in the first place. Romance suspense is her most favorite genre. The damsel heroine and the alpha gentleman hero are who she writes about. It started as a hobby. One chapter turned into ten, then a novel was born. Making up worlds and characters for readers to fall in love with, is the most rewarding for her. May her words give you the 'feels' and may it be an unputdownable book!

SNEAK PEEKS:
Kendra saw Michael from half a block away. He leaned against his Ferrari. The car looked so out of place amidst the cobblestone sidewalks and crepe myrtle trees. He wore dark denim jeans and a turtleneck. Even in that casual dress, he gave off an impression of power, intensity, and attractiveness. Michael crossed his arms across his chest, and she took a breath.
Had they really been in love once? It seemed like an impossibility. Kendra shook the thought out of her mind. She was here for closure. She was here to assist an old friend. That was all.
— Her Perfect Match by Preslaysa Williams
Janey pushed open the door to the McIntosh room. She thought the guitar on the bed told her everything that she needed to know—that she needed to set down the flowers and get out of the room as soon as possible. But when the bathroom door swung open and steam rolled out and the man from the stadium emerged wearing only a towel, she knew that she had a lot to learn.
He froze, but his blue eyes frosted with anger. “You!”
Janey slowly put down the vase on the dresser.
“Who are you?” He stalked toward her, his feet pounding on the hardwood floor. “Who sent you?”
“No one s-sent me,” Janey stuttered.
He barked out a sharp laugh. “Come on. You can do better than that. Who do you work for? Celebrity Rag? TMZ? People?”
“You forgot the CIA and the FBI.” Sarcasm bit Janey’s voice. Who did this guy think he was? Yes, he looked like Adonis in a towel, but that didn’t mean he could act like a demi-god.
He stopped inches from her nose, his eyes raking over her. “Where’s your camera?”
“In my room.”
He barked out another laugh and his hands, still damp from the shower, patted her down.
She stepped away, furious. “Excuse me. I don’t know who you think you are, but you don’t get to touch me.”
He frowned at her through narrowed eyes, and she met his gaze.
“You expect me to believe we just coincidentally happened to sit next to each other…wait—you must have followed me here.”
“Maybe you followed me!”
Confusion mixed with the anger on his face. “Why would I follow you?”
Janey stared at him with an open mouth for a moment before saying, “I think that you are the most conceited, arrogant person that I have ever met.” She grabbed the flowers off the dresser before turning back to him. “I’ll have you know that there are plenty of very nice, non-stalkerish-type guys that would be happy to sit next to me at a football game and to find me in their room!”
Janey slammed out the door, making it bang so loudly that the elderly couple in the Golden Delicious room poked out their heads to see what had happened.
Incognito Billionaire, Kristy Tate
The sound of the door banging against the wall caused Emily to spin on the spot and stare open-mouthed at a dripping wet David, in nothing but the world’s tiniest towel. The two of them gawped at each other, then Emily burst out laughing. Forgetting that she was wearing nothing but a white satin slip, she dropped the dress.
“That was the world’s fastest shower,” she said between breaths. She had to gasp for air after laughing so hard. “Why are you wearing a face cloth?”
David’s face grew crimson red as he clutched the towel protecting what was left of his modesty.
“There aren’t any towels in the bathroom.” He sidled toward the closet grinning sheepishly at her. Emily roared. In fact, she laughed so hard, she creased over clutching the splitting pain in her side as she fell onto the bed.
“You look––”
“Sexy?”
Emily eyed him. His body glistened in the golden sunset streaming through the windows, which softened the lines of his muscles. Yes, he did look sexy. But the miniscule square of cotton had her rolling around on the bed with laughter again.
