Now a dark queen has risen out of the ashes of her former life. Fury is blooming inside Dinah, poisoning her soul and twisting her mind. This is not a story of happily ever after.
This is the story of the Queen of Hearts.
REVIEW
4/5 Stars
h. My. Gosh. I need to take a breath before I start writing this.
War of the Cards is the finale to Queen of Hearts Trilogy. All I really want to say about this book is that it deserves to be read. By the time I was done I had so many emotions swirling in me that I had to take a minute or few before I started functioning again.
As I started this book, I had a fair idea of how it would progress, but then midway through the story when I thought what could possibly happen now, the author threw in a twist that left me shocked. And things happened so quickly in a rush of overwhelmed emotions that my heart actually broke for Wardley. I don't know what I wanted for him but it definitely wasn't this, or maybe it was but under better circumstances. Dinah has grown and matured beautifully throughout the books and by the end, I really liked her character and the person she had become. I really REALLY liked what the author did somewhere at the end when Wardley says to Dinah about the traveller about her deed. *wink wink*
Villains got what they deserved and our MC's got their HEA. Kind of. You'll see what I mean if you read it.
All in all, this action packed trilogy with dark twists and impressive show of emotions is definitely worth a read.
