Graffiti Moon By Cath Crowley Review

Graffiti Moon revolves around characters named Lucy,Ed,Leo,Jazz,Dylan and Daisy.Lucy is crazy and head over heels in love with shadow and she hasn't even met him yet nor has she seen him.Whenever she gets news about his whereabouts, she’d head over to his location asap hoping to reach before he leaves, but that never happens. At a midnight party, Ed suggests Lucy going out to find Shadow, who only paints his graffities at night.Ed makes the suggestion impulsively. He doesn’t want to be near Lucy, if he can help it, because of their past.Lucy can't stand Ed because of the way their first date ended years ago (him grabbing her arse and her breaking his nose) but she finds herself spilling all her hopes and dreams to Ed and finding herself falling for him and caring less about her fantasy of Shadow. When Lucy agrees, it is up to him to bring her to the places where Shadow painted. They roam the streets at night as Lucy takes in the art of the person she has never met. The night isn’t long; truth is knocking at the door. Shadow is right where Lucy can see him.
Readers know the identity of Shadow right from the very start of Graffiti Moon. The chapters alternate between Lucy and Ed. We get to read their point of views, and it’s really interesting because their point of views for some scenes overlap, and what they perceive about the words or body language of the other person is enlightening. The whole story and romance is super cute, and it really is the interactions between Lucy and Ed, the careful way they open up to each other, the way they share their secrets in the dead of the night, that makes Graffiti Moon so good. If you love a good contemporary that brings up some interesting themes like how we all have our secrets while still keeping a light, entertaining tone, Graffiti Moon is the book for you! It's definitely one of the most beautiful, charming and enjoyable books I have read.

Fav Quotes -

She’s the strangest girl I’ve ever met. I didn’t know she was this strange when I asked her out in Year 10. I’m not sure I would have asked her if I did. ‘So how did our conversation go? The one you had in your head?’

“I liked that he had hair that was growing without a plan. A grin that came out of nowhere and left the same way.”

I take off my helmet and lie there, catching my breath. ‘Ed? Are you alive?’
‘Yes,’ he says from somewhere close by. ‘And that’s genuinely surprising since your bike went over me about halfway down. You’re a very dangerous girl to date.’
‘We’re not on a date.’
‘Lucky me. I might be dead if we were.

‘What do you care if I’m not going out with Beth? You’re on an all-night adventure to find Shadow so you can do it with him.’
‘Lie down,’ she says. ‘I want to get my bike and finish the job.’

“You know who Mr. Darcy is?"
"I exist, therefore I know who Mr. Darcy is.”

“I come out of the bathroom and the first thing I see is Ed. Okay, it was a long shot, but I was half hoping he would cease to exist while we were gone.”

“You say one more word to anyone and I'm telling people you cried in here tonight because you thought Daisy was breaking up with you.' 'You wouldn't.' Leo's phone rings. 'He would,' he says, laughing as he answers it.”

“I want to sit on the other side of the table from him so he doesn't think I'm interested, but there's no room on the other side so I sit as far away from him as I can and try to have an out-of-body experience.”

“I can't believe you're still mad at me," Ed says.
"You grabbed my arse."
"You broke my nose."
"You broke his nose?" Jazz asks. "You grabbed her arse?"
"It was two years ago-"
"Two years, four months, and eight days," I tell him.
"-and I was fifteen, and I slipped and she broke my nose."
"Wait a minute. How do you slip onto someone's arse?"
Jazz asks.
"I meant slipped up. I slipped up and she broke my nose."
"You're lucky that's all I broke," I say.
"You're lucky I didn't call the police."
Leo, Dylan, and Daisy slid into the booth. "Did you guys know that Lucy broke Ed's nose? Jazz asks.
Ed closes his eyes silently and bangs his head on the wall.”

Sleeping Handsome By Jean Haus Review

Sleeping Handsome is about a boy named Zach who has been in a coma for a few months now and Paige who has to read to him every afternoon as a punishment given to her by her teacher. Then one day she find's Zach's journal and starts reading it to him partly out of her own curiosity to know more about the boy with whom she spends her afternoons. As time passes by she actually starts caring about him. It was good to see how Paige was inspired to stand up for herself and not pretend to be who she wasnt by reading Zach's journal. I liked Zach's character in the end too however small it was.It was quite short but an interesting read nevertheless. This type of reads want to make you believe in fairytales...but then I believe fairytales happen everyday we'r just too busy to realize it. The only thing this book lacked was that it was short. I wish it was a little longer so that I could know a little more of Zach and Paige and how their relation progresses. If your looking for a short and sweet read Sleeping Handsome is the book for you!!

Human By Alycia Linwood Review

Human was quick, fun and a cute read. The author comes straight to the main plot of the story.Writing style of the author really appealed to me.It was simple yet sooo much fun to read. I liked the twist that the author put on Heaven, Hell, and Earth. It's really creative and original and I think that everyone will respect that not everything is what it seems. Ariel's character was funny, strong and brave and she did everything she needed to do for the people she loved. Although her thoughts were soo humourous that they made me laugh and smile throughout the entire story. I felt kind of bad for Devin for the way he was being treated...I so wanted to punch Maliadades in the face for that. Devin was such a sweetheart....he didnt deserve what he had been going through. Overall I'm glad I read this adorable book filled with a little drama, romance and definetly humour.

Favorite Quotes -

“How dare he call me while I was plotting his murder?”

"Some girl lent it to me." He smiled and pushed the cell phone towards me with his long fingers.
Lent? Yeah, right. Maybe I should be happy that he didn't want to take mine. I sighed and started explaining the basics to him, thinking how funny it would be to actually receive a call from Hell. Cell phone service providers would have a lot of trouble figuring out how to charge that one, or they'd simply slap the highest price possible.

"I know the animal, but this is not alive. And it's smaller." He actually poked it to prove his theory.
I tried to take it from him, but he lifted it up above his head. Maybe he wasn't really tall, but he was still taller than me, and I couldn't reach it.

"It's a toy!" I said, frustrated. "Just give it back to me. It's mine!"

"Oh." He handed me back my plushie, but he didn't seem too happy about it. "You can keep it?"
"Hey, just because most people think toys are for kids doesn't mean they're right!"

Ascension By Sophia Sharp Review

Alright so Ascension is the conclusion of our journey with Laura , Logan , Alexander,Madison and Gray :( . No matter what people say if i read a series for a while I simply get attached to the characters. So yes I will miss all of them especially Grey. Ascension starts where Graced left of...in Egypt. After a frustrating few weeks our guys finally find the repository and I have to tell you I totally loved the action in this book. The most important thing that I gotta say is that I truly admire Laura's courage and strength throughout the book. I mean the way she handled things , keeping the justice for the angels a priority to other things such as how she got a poisonous wound in her leg she still kept kicking the elder's butt...yep tottaly loved the action there. The storyline kept getting so much better that I couldnt keep the book down. Cheers to my favorite bear Grey for saving Laura AGAIN I might add. Truly a saviour...Isin't  he?? :)

And OMG what a double twist it had in the ending part of the story...totally unexpected.Really loved that. Now I'd give the book sayy 4 outta 5 stars b'coz of how it ended. I mean it was kind of abrupt...Laura didnt remember what she had done for god's sake & we dont even get to know what exactly happened to Alexander,Madison,Grey and Rafael..it did irritate me. I wanted to know what the first 2 encountered in the elder's dream but as I said we dont. But anyway it was a good journey and a good series overall in the end.

Graced By Sophia Sharp Review

Well what do I say about this book. It wasnt what I expected it to be.Graced involed the four of our main characters who are Laura,Logan,Alex and Madison to search for the ancient artifacts that will help them in their final fight with the elders and the basic part of the story involved them to look for the elders and confront them head on...but (sigh) they had no such luck and I didnt get to read any action between all of them but than again I guess that's gonna be in Ascension i.e Part 2 of Graced and the end of this series.

I LOVEd Gray in this book...I mean the way he saved Laura in the book when she most needed help...it makes me wanna own a bear as a pet (grins)...but I'll be honest and say that Gray has been my favorite character since he made his entrance in the series as a cub.I know this might sound unfair considering the circumstances but I very much disliked Laura for leaving Gray back..Yea Yea I know how on earth would you get a bear on a plane to Egypt..but still c'mon I love the bear. I just hope Laura will come back for him or I will officially dislike her forever.

Anyway so the book again leaves us with a cliffhanger and the story continues with Ascention...Now I'm off to read that so catch ya'll laterrrzz ;)

Destined By Sophia Sharp Review

Hmmm..I'd say this book was not bad. I found it a little not-so-interesting in the start but as the story proceeded I was completely into it.

*SPOILER ALERT* I was in shock when Logan left Laura & the way he mocked her plea for him to stay with her OMG I totally wanted to strangle the guy. Yeah Ok so he had a good enough reason but he could have let her down more gently instead of hurting her like crap and being a jerk to her. I guess the benefit she got out of this whole situation is that her character grew way stronger and more confident which is a good thing. I was crying like crazy during the whole Alexander-got-poisoned-because-of-the-arrow situation ;( My heart went out to Laura for what all she had to go through with no one by her side :(

Overall I'd say a good read which will make you smile, cry, frustrate you at times but it will be worth it.And I'd say the real action begins now with Graced the #3 book of Dream Realms Trilogy Part 1....so here I come elders (Ancient vamps for those who havent read the book yet) to see how you get your butt kicked by Laura,Logan,Alexander,Madison & also the fallen angel whose name I do not know yet...(grins) Seriously I do not. LOL :)

Shattered By Sophia Sharp Review

Ok...So SHATTERED is the first book in the DREAM REALMS TRILOGY by SOPHIA SHARP. The story was kind of interesting...not what I was expecting but in a good way. The characters were strong and they werent obsessed with each other which is the case in most young adult novels. One thing which really got me thinking was that the girl just up and took off with somewhat a stranger knowing that she will never see her family or friends ever again.I mean shouldn't there have been some family scenes and drama when her family doesn't find her for days in a row...I dont think she even got a call from anyone. Other thing is that the book wasn't long enough for the complex plot.

Ok so anyway the basic vampire myth has been given quite a different take with its history and elders etc. Although the story was good enough...it was the end which really makes me wanna read the next book in the trilogy i.e DESTINED. So I'm off to read this sequel and will be back soon with its review. :)
